Dusty Attic ....YAY!

Hope everybody`s enjoying the weekend! I am ...:-)
Some time ago I got a present from a friend of mine,  Tracy  (Stay True To God)  , and she was so kind and sweet to send me Dusty Attic laser-cut chipboard goodies ....that I wanted so much to play with. You can`t imagine how excited I was when I opened my box. I couldn`t believe my eyes....it was full of yummy scrappy goodies to play with. The only sounds my hubby and kids could hear were Ahhhh........Ohhhhh........Awwwww....Woooooooow... The box was not only full of Dusty Attic goodies but also lots of scrappy girly stuff for Leanne and scrappy boy stuff for Alexander. Thank you so much  Tracy !!! Once again HUGE HUGS from me!!!!

And here is a layout I made last night using the Dusty Attic bird cage (#3) and the songbirds. The ribbon you see along my   My Inverted Scallop Border  is also gift from Tracy!
As you can see it`s me and my daughter on the photo. I used Graphic 45 pattern paper for this layout. I stamped the corners with Prima`s Build-a-frame (collection 1) clear stamps.

The quote was a rub-on poem and I had to cut each word so I can use it in this way.

The hanger is from a pair of socks that I always keep when I buy socks for the kids ;-). The quote you see on the bird cage is also a rub-on poem. I stamped the music notes using Prima`s clear stamps. The rest of the bird cage (birds as well) is stamped with a text stamp.

Tutorial: Inverted Scallop border

Hi there!
As I promised here is my Inverted Scallop border tutorial. It`s very easy to make.

1. Firstly, Outline a big circle with a pencil (I used simply a big round plate). After that, outline the little (half) circles with the stencil (see on the photo below) all around the big circle.

2. Cut the half of the circles (as shown on the photo below) and invert them. Then it`s ready to be glued. I used glue dots to adhere the scallops but you can use foam tape for 3D effect.

3. You can distress, ink, stitch, etc. to add more details to your work.
    Double-sided paper is a must :-)

Reveal Day (2)

As I promised yesterday here is my second part of my Design Team work at  My Creative Scrapbook . These are layouts I created with the Limited Edition kit which is FANTASTIC !!!

My first page "So Girly":

My 2nd one "Leanne in Flowerland".

I used once again for this page a b&w photo but I printed the same photo in color as well! I cut out the crown from the color photo!

The flowers are also cut out from the pattern paper and I used an embossing pen to give some texture and demension!

My 3rd page "Lea":

My personal favorite this month is "My pearl" :-)

The photo of Leanne was printed with this beautiful doodled frame.

The stitched heart I created myself.

And my last 5th page for this month with the Limited Edition Kit is "Faces". These are one of my favorite photos of Leanne. I guess I`ll scrap them more than once....LOL! I`ll post soon a tutorial how I made the scalloped border.

I colored the lace ribbon with Copic Markers.

Reveal Day

It`s again a Reveal Day at  My Creative Scrapbook . I worked with two kits this month - Main Kit and Limited Edition Kit. Both kits are simply gorgeous....and I enjoyed once again creating so much with all the goodies! Today I`ll post my four layouts I made with the Main Kit.

On this page ("Flower child") I tried to create a hat for Leanne from the pattern paper (top right corner...). I stamped the butterflies and I cut them out. The red-green flowers are from Prima but the bigger ones I punched and then sprayed with water so I can wrinkle them and give them some texture. I used glimmer mist as well which is included in the kit.

My second layout ("Cute"). I used red paint for the centres of the ribbon flowers.

My third layout ("It smells like SUMMER") was fun to make. My purpose was to recreate the pattern paper with stitching. Of course you have to see the real paper to understand what I did ;-)

My last page from the Main Kit ("Dad") was really great to create! I printed the same photo in b&w and in color. I used the b&w photo for the page but I wanted to give some photoshop effect and I cut Leanne`s dress out of  the color photo and used foam tape to attach it so it`ll give some dimenssion.

I cut out a circle and I placed it over the photo. Then I sprayed the glimmer mist and I achieved the effect you see on the layout.

That`s all folks :-)! I`ll try to post my other projects tomorrow. It`s such a sunny weather here in Hollanda and I`ll try to get the best of it!
